TRON: Legacy (2010) Poster

General plot- The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father's creation turned bad and a unique ally who was born inside the digital domain of The Grid. Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 20 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous. The story follows Flynn's son Sam (Garrett Hedlund), who responds to a message from his long-lost father and is transported into a virtual reality called the Grid, where Sam, his father, and the algorithm Quorra (Olivia Wilde) stop the malevolent program CLU from invading the human world.

Production...

Where was it filmed?-1150 S Olive St, Los Angeles, California, USA, Canadian Motion Picture Park Studios, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada Shangri-La - 1128 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

How was it filmed (3D, 2D, CGI)?- shown in 3D Tron: Legacy in 3D because the cameras were bigger and heavier, and variations needed to be taken into account, 2D  The real-world sequences were filmed in 2D and contains CGI (computer generated images) this whole film contains it, people are made to look younger, the costumes and scenes are all filmed on the green screen, But watching a de-aged Jeff Bridges star opposite his older self in Disney's Tron: Legacy it's clear Hollywood's technical monkeys do not have the technology to rebuild him just yet., Crowd effects for the gaming arena were recorded at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International.
Any problems it faced- the main issue was that you get real issues in 3D with high contrast lines.

Post production...

Does the film rely on special effects?-  The production team blended several special effect techniques, Tron: Legacy universe, which varied from real world locations to fully digital sets.
What sort of special effects are used?- I spent a half year writing software art to generate special effects for Tron Legacy, working at Digital Domain with Bradley "GMUNK" Munkowitz, Jake Sargeant, and David "dlew" Lewandowski. This page has taken a long time to be published because I've had to await clearance. A lot of my team's work was done using Adobe software and Cinema 4D. someone tried hacking all the special effects made for the film.
Was 3D added AFTER filming?- yes, it was seen as a true 3D movie and was released in 3D on 26th march 2011
Did it require any RE SHOOTS- The director reports... "I don’t how you could possibly expect the challenges of this movie beforehand. Every day on set, there was another unique challenge, and a lot of that resulted from trying to push the envelope technically, in so many different areas, simultaneously. We shot in true stereo with real 3D cameras."

Marketing-

How was the film marketed?- At the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, one monorail train was decorated with special artwork depicting light cycles with trailing beams of light, along with the film's logo. arcade games were opened, posters and banners promoting the film.
Where was the films premier- "TronLegacy" premiered in Hollywood
